Hey mate here's your answer

Inscriptions and edicts.

Inscriptions are engravings found on rocks, caves and stone tablets. They are also found on Palm leaves, coins, copper plates and temple walls. They provide invaluable information about the life and times of great rulers and the people.

For example, we get to know that from the allahabad pillar inscription about the great military conquests of samudra gupta,a ruler of the Gupta Dynasty.

Edicts are commands issued by the kings in ancient times.

For example, Emperor Ashoka's edicts provide valuable information about his empire.

Hope it helps ☺️
