The field of evolution and classification are interlinked in the following manner: The more characteristics two species have in common, the more closely they are related. Classification of species is a reflection of their evolutionary relationship. The more number of characteristics shared by two organisms more, is the probability of their having common ancestors.

Hence, two areas of study namely 'evolution' and 'classification' are interlinked ".

☆ Very important question because it has came in previous year exam

● classification is the reflection of evolutionary relationships between organisms.

● More the two organisms are related to each other, more characteristics they have in common.

● More characteristics they have in common, more recently they have common ancestor like a girl and her real brother.

● SIMILARLY between organism allow us to group (classify ) them and study these groups to determine how these organisms are evolutionary related.
