Answer:

over all profit is 168

Given:-

  • two articles selling price is 10384 each
  • profit % = 18%
  • loss % == 12%

To find:-

  • over all gain or loss

Solution:-

first \: we \: will \: solve \:  cost \: price \\  \\ selling \: price \:  =  \frac{100 + profit\%}{100}  \times  cost \: price \\  \\ 10384  =  \frac{100 + 18}{100}  \times c.p \\  \\ c.p =  \frac{10384\times 100}{118}  \\  \\ c.p = 88 \times 100 \\  \\ c.p = 8800 \\  \\ now \: for \: 2nd \: article \: cost \: price \\  \\ selling \: price \:  =  \frac{100 + profit\%}{100}  \times  cost \: price  \\  \\ 10384 =  \frac{100 - 12}{100}  \times c.p \\  \\ c.p =  \frac{10384 \times 100}{88}  \\  \\ c.p = 118 \times 100 \\  \\ c.p = 11800 \\  \\ now \: total \: cost \: price \: of \: article \\  \\ 8800 + 11800 = 20600 \\  \\ total \: selling \: price \: of \: article \\  \\ 10384 + 10384 = 20768 \\  \\ its \: clearly \: seems \: that \: there \: is \: profit \\  \\ as \: we \: all \: know \\  \\ profit = s.p - c.p \\  \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = 20768 - 20600  \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: = 168
