Two asteroids in space, each with a mass of 200 kg, are 1500 m apart from each other. What is the gravitational force between them?​

The gravitational force of attraction between two objects of masses m1 and m2 separated by a distance r is given by  

F = Gm1m2/r2,  

where G is the universal gravitational constant. G = 6.67x10-11 N m2/kg2.

The gravitational force of attraction between two objects of masses 50 kg and 120 kg kept at distance of 10 m from each other is

F = 6.67x10-11 N m2/kg2. 50 kg x 120 kg /(10 m x 10 m)

  = 400.2 x 10-11 N

 = 4.002 x 10-9 N
