Two astronauts cannot hear each other on the moon. WHY ?

Sound is pressure waves propagating through a medium (e.g., the atmosphere). In the vacuum of space (or very close to a vacuum, like on the moon) there is nothing for these pressure waves to transmit through, hence no sound.
