By the law of conservation of momentum
m1u1 + m2u2 = m1v1 + m2v2 (eq1)
Given ,
m1 = 0.04 \\ m2 = 0.05 \\ u1 = 40 \\ u2 = 30 \\ v1 = v(suppose) \\ v2 = 25
To find v

Filling the values in (eq1)
(0.04 \times 40) + (0.05 \times 50) = (0.04 \times v) + (0.05 \times 25) \\ 1.6  + 2.5 = 0.04v + 1.25 \\ 4.1 - 1.25 = 0.04v \\ 2.85 = 0.04v \\ v = 71.25mps
