Question :-

  • Two balls is selected at random from the bag contains 2 white, 5 black and 7 green balls. What is the probability that it is a (i) white ball (ii) at least one green ball.

Answer :-

(i) Probability of getting a white ball :-

 \boxed {\sf {Probability \; = \dfrac {Favourable \;  outcomes }{ total \;   outcomes}}}

Here,

  • Favourable outcomes = 2
  • Total outcomes = 2 + 5 + 7 = 14

 \sf{ Probability \; of \; getting \; white \: ball \; = \dfrac {2}{14} = \dfrac{ 1}{7} }

(ii) Probability of getting Atleast one green ball :

  • Favourable outcomes = 7
  • Total outcomes = 14

 \sf {Probability \; of \;getting \;Atleast\; one \; green \; ball \; = \dfrac {7}{14 } = \dfrac {1}{2} }
