given: Mass = 4kg each

          Velocity = 4 m/s

           Co-efficient of restitution = 0.5

 Find: loss in Kinetic energy(KE) due to collision ?

Solution :

Kinetic Energy = 1/2 m (v square)

                = 1/2  mass x (velocity square)

                = 1/2  4 x 4 square

                = 1/2  4 x 16

                = 2 x 32

           KE = 64 J

kinetic due to collision = 1/2 16 v square = 8x 16=128

loss of KE = 64-128

                 = 164J

  Ans: loss of kinetic energy due to collision will be -64J .
