Hey Dear,

◆ Answer -

v1 = 5.5 m/s

v2 = 4.5 m/s

● Explanation -

Let v1 & v2 be velocities of two bikes.

When two bikes travel in same direction, relative velocity is given by -

v1 + v2 = 10 m/s ...(1)

When two bikes travel in opposite direction, relative velocity is given by -

v1 - v2 = 1 m/s ...(2)

Adding (1) & (2),

(v1 - v2) + (v1 - v2) = 10 + 1

2v1 = 11

v1 = 11/2

v1 = 5.5 m/s

Putting this in (1),

v1 + v2 = 10

6.5 + v2 = 10

v2 = 10 - 6.5

v2 = 4.5 m/s

Therefore, velocities of two bikes are 5.5 m/s & 4.5 m/s

Thanks for asking..
