f = 10N

Masses = 2kg and 4kg

now,

f = Mass*Acceleration

  =  (2+4)* a

  = 6a

a = f/6

It is given that f = 10N

a = 10/6 m/s^2

Spring force T = mass * acceleration

T = 2a

we need to consider the mass of the object which is exerting the force. here, object with mass 2kg is the one exerting the force on the object with mass 4kg, therefore we take mass as 2kg

T = 2*10/6

T = 10/3 N
