Two blocks of masses 4 kg and 2 kg are placed side by side on a smooth horizontal surface. A foce of 20 N is applied on 4 kg block. Find (a). The acceleration of each block and (b).the normal reaction between two blocks.

Force = 20 N on 4 kg 
thus 10 kg on 2 kg

To find 
normal reaction=mass x acceleration due to gravity

Solution
for 4 kg ......(1)

mass=4 kg
acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s
=4 x 9.8 = 39.8

for 2 kg...........(2)
mass=2 kg
acceleration due to gravity = 9.8
=2 x 9.8 = 19.6
