The free body diagram of 3 kg block is as showjn in the fig. (a).

The equation of motion of 3 kg block is T

2

−3g=3a

T

2

=3(a+g)=3(2+10)=36N ............(i)

The free body diagram of 5 kg is as shown in the Fig.(b).

The equation of motion of 5kg block is

T

1

−T

2

−5g=5a

T

1

=5(a+g)+T

2

=5(2+10)+36=96N (Using (i))

Given

  • Mass₁ = 5 kg
  • Mass₂ = 3 kg

To Find

  • Tension in each string

Solution

T₂ = mg

T₁ = (M₁ + M₂)g

Tension :

→ T₂ = mg

→ T₂ = 3 × 10

→ T₂ = 30 N

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Tension :

→ T₁ = (M₁ + M₂)g

→ T₁ = (5+3) × 10

→ T₁ = 8 × 10

→ T₁ = 80 N
