Two blocks of masses m = 2 kg and M = 5 kg are in

contact on a frictionless table. A horizontal force F( =

35 N) is applied on to m. Find the force of contact

between the blocks. Will the force contact remains

same if F is applied to M?

(A) 20 N (B) 25 N

(C) 35 N (D) 28 N

Answer:

Hello mate,

Explanation:

As the blocks are rigid under the action of a force F, both will move

with same acceleration a=Fm+M=352+5=5m/s2

force of contact f1=Ma=5×5=25N

If the force is applied to M then its action on m will be

f2=ma=2×5=10N.

hope this helps u
