Divide the length of each ship from the lighthouse as x and (100-x).
tan 60=AD/x
AD=x√3
tan 45=AD/(100-x)
AD=100-x
Equating,
AD=AD
x√3=100-x
x√3+x=100
x(√3+1)=100
x=100/(√3+1)
x=100/(1.73+1)
x=100/2.73
x=36.63m
tan 60=AD/x
AD=x√3
tan 45=AD/(100-x)
AD=100-x
Equating,
AD=AD
x√3=100-x
x√3+x=100
x(√3+1)=100
x=100/(√3+1)
x=100/(1.73+1)
x=100/2.73
x=36.63m
