Given :

Two bodies A and B are oscillating 50 and 25 times in 5s.

To Find :

Frequency of both bodies.

Solution :

Frequency : The number of oscillations per unit time is called frequency.

or, number of waves that pass a given point in one second is called frequency and its SI unit is hertz or 1/s.

\underline{\boxed{\bf{\orange{Frequency=\dfrac{No.\:of\: oscillations}{Total\:time}}}}}

⧪ Frequency of body A :

⇒ f₁ = n₁ / t

⇒ f₁ = 50/5

f₁ = 10 Hz

⧪ Frequency of body B :

➛ f₂ = n₂ / t

➛ f₂ = 25/5

f₂ = 5 Hz

Frequency of A > Frequency of B

Additional Information :

  • Wavelength : It is the distance between any two consecutive crests or troughs.
  • Wavenumber : It is defined as the number of wavelengths per unit length.
