Given:-

→Mass of two bodies A and B are same.

→Velocity of A(v₁)=5m/s

Velocity of B(v₂)=10m/s

To find:-

→Ratio of momentum of the bodies

Solution:-

Let the masses of A and B be m and their momentum be p and p respectively.

We know that:-

=>p=v

Where:-

p is momentum of the body

m is mass of the body

v is velocity of the body

Case 1:-

=>p=v

=>p₁=m×5

=>p=5m. ---(1)

Case 2:-

=>p=v

=>p₂=m×10

=>p=10m. ----(2)

Now,by diving eq.1 by eq.2,we get:-

=>p₁/p₂ = 5m/10m

=>p₁/p₂ = 1/2

=>p : p = 1:2

Thus,ratio of momentum of the bodies is 1:2.
