two bodies each of mass 1 kg moving his straight line but opposite in direction with the same velocity of 2m/s.they collide with each other and stick to each other after collision.what is the common velocity of these bodies after collision.

the common velocity will be zero (0).

let it be explained:

velocity of each =2m/s

but they are in opposite direction .

so,2-2=0m/s

mass=1kg.
v=2m/s.
hence,p=mv
p=1×2=2kg.m/s
momentum of first body=2kg.m/s& second body is also2kg.m/s.
now, common velocity=2/2=0m/s
