Two bodies of mass 1kg and 2 kg moving in the direction opposite to each other with a speed of 5ms collide calculate the total momentum

Momentum , p = mass(m) × velocity (v)
momentum of 1st body = 1kg × 5m/s = 5 kg . m/s

momentum of 2nd body = 2 kg × 5 m/s = 10 kg.m/s

total momentum = momentum of 1st body + momentum of 2nd body = 5+10 = 15 kg.m/s
