Answer:

weight acting downwards by 3kg(30N) is greater than the other one

so 1st equation is 30-T=3a

2nd equation is T-20=2a

add equation 1 and 2

so we get 10=5a

therefore a=2 meter per second square

t=24N

Answer:

» smaller mass = m1=3kg

» larger mass =m2=4kg

» Tension = T

» For mass m1

=> T−m1g=ma ____eq(1)

» For mass m2

=> m2g−T=m2a. ____eq(2)

» By eq(1) + eq(2)

=> (m2−m1)g = (m1+m2)a

=> a=(m2−m1)g/(m1+m2)

=> a=(4−3)×10/(4+3)

=>a=1×10/7=10/7

=> a=33.6ms−2
