Given :Two bodies of mass 4 kg and 25 kg have equal kinetic energy

To Find : The ratio of their velocities

  5:2

 25:4

  4:25

  225:16

Solution:

KE  = (1/2) mV²

KE = Kinetic Energy

m = Mass

V = Velocity

Body 1 :

Mass = M₁ =  4kg

Velocity = V₁  m/s

KE₁ = (1/2) 4 (V₁ )²

Body 2 :

Mass = M₂ =  25kg

Velocity = V₂  m/s

KE₂= (1/2) 25 (V₂)²

equal kinetic energy

=>  KE₁  = KE₂

=>   (1/2) 4 (V₁ )²  =  (1/2) 25 (V₂)²

=> 2² (V₁ )²  = 5² (V₂)²

=> 2 V₁ = 5V₂

=> V₁ / V₂ = 5 / 2

=> V₁ : V₂ = 5 : 2

.The ratio of their velocities will be 5 : 2
