The ratio of time taken to reach the surface of the moon and earth is 1:6.

Given:-

Mass of first body (m1) = 1kg

Mass of second body (m2) = 2kg

To Find:-

The ratio of time taken to reach the surface of the moon and earth.

Solution:-

We can simply find out the ratio of time taken to reach the surface of the moon and earth by using the following methods.

As

Mass of first body (m1) = 1kg

Mass of second body (m2) = 2kg

Time taken to reach the surface (t) =?

g (moon) = 1/6 of g (earth)

Let the height be h

According to the formula,

t =  \sqrt{\frac{2h}{g} }

Here, height is the same for both the surfaces

So,

t \infty  \sqrt{ \frac{1}{g} }

 \frac{te}{tm}  =  \sqrt{ \frac{gm}{ge} }

  ({\frac{te}{tm} })^{2}  =  \frac{g}{6g}

({\frac{te}{tm} })^{2}  =  \frac{1}{6}

Hence, The ratio of time taken to reach the surface of the moon and earth is 1:6.
