Answer:-

Given:

Masses of two bodies are in the ratio 2 : 3.

And, they have equal momentum.

Let the masses of the bodies be 2m , 3m.

We know that,

Momentum (P) = mass * velocity.

Let velocity of 1st body = v1 and velocity of 2nd body = v2.

Hence,

Momentum of 1st body = (2m) * (v1) -- equation (1)

and,

Momentum of 2nd body = (3m) * (v2) -- equation (2)

Divide equation (1) by (2).

→ (2mv1) / (3mv2) = 1 [ They have equal momentum ]

→ (2m / 3m) * (v1 / v2) = 1

→ v1 / v2 = 1 * 3m / 2m

→ v1 / v2 = 3 / 2

→ v1 : v2 = 3 : 2

Hence, their velocities are in the ratio 3 : 2.
