Two boys Raj and Rishi started running on a circular track of length 200 meters from a same starting point X. The speed of Raj is 8 m/s and that of Rishi is 5 m/s. At how many points will they meet while moving in same direction?

Given :-

• Length of circular track = 200 m .
• Starting Point = X .
• Speed of Raj = 8 m/s .
• Speed of Rishi = 5 m/s .

To Find :-

• After how much time they meet each other again at starting point for the first time ?

Solution :-

→ Time taken by Raj to complete one round = D / S = 200/8 =25 seconds .

→ Time taken by Rishi to complete one round = D / S = 200/5 = 40 seconds .

then ,

→ Time taken by them to meet again at starting point = LCM of of the timings taken by each of them to complete one full round = LCM(25 , 40) = 200 seconds = 3 minutes , 20 seconds. (Ans.)
