Answer: 5 and 8

Step-by-step explanation:

Take LCM of 24 and 15 which comes out to be 120

So you need 120 chocolates of each brand.

Now numbers of packs of first chocolate= 120/24 = 5

120/15 = 8

SOLUTION :

Given :

Number of chocolates of 1st brand in one pack = 24

Number of chocolates of 2nd brand in one pack = 15.

To  find the least number of boxes of each kind first we have to find the LCM of 24 and 15.

LCM by prime factorization method :

24 =  2 x 2 x 2 x 3

15 = 3 × 5

L.C.M. of 24 and 15 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 5

[LCM of two or more numbers = product of the greatest power of each prime factor involved in the numbers, with highest power.]

L.C.M. (24,15) = 120

Hence, the number of packets of 1st brand =  120/24 = 5

number of packets of 2nd brand = 120/15 = 8
