=According to the question,

=60%of x=1600( As the winning team had got 60% of the vote polled)

=60/100 * x =1600

=3/5 * x=1600

=3*x/5=1600

=3x/5=1600

=3x=1600*5

=3x=8000

=x=8000/3 or 2666.66667
