Two capacitors of unknown capacities an produce maximum capacity 25farad and minimum 6 farad .When connected together .Find the capacity of each capacitor?​

Let C_1 and C_2 are capacities of two unknown capacitors.

if both are joined in parallel in then, equivalent capacity will be maximum and if both are joined in series combination, equivalent capacity will be minimum.

so, C_{max}=C_1+C_2

or, C_1+C_2=25F....(1)

and C_{min}=\frac{C_1C_2}{C_1+C_2}

or, 6F=\frac{C_1C_2}{C_1+C_2}....(2)

from equations (1) and (2),

C_1=10F and C_2=15F

hence, capacity of capacitors are 10F and 15F.
