Concept: Surface tension is the tendency tendency of liquid surface to shrink into the lower surface area possible.

Given: Space gravity of two capillaries are 0.4 and 0.8 respectively. Surface tensions are in the ratio 6: 5.

Find: Calculate the ratio of liquid.

Solution: Diameter of both capillaries are same.

T_{1} :T_{2}=6:5

h=\frac{2Tcosx}{pgr}

So, h∝\frac{T}{p}

\frac{h_{1} }{h_{2} }=\frac{T_{1} }{T_{2} }  X\frac{p_{2} }{p_{1} }

    = \frac{6}{5} X\frac{0.8}{0.4}

    = \frac{12}{5}

Final answer: Required ratio is 12:5.
