Given:

Two cars A and B are 500m apart from each other. Car B is ahead of car A. They are moving in the same direction and the same peed of 10km/s Vehicle A is accelerated by 4km/s².

To find:

Distance after which they will meet ?

Calculation:

Let time after which they will meet be t :

So, after time t , position if car A and B will be same.

 \therefore \: d_{A} = d_{B} + 0.5

 \implies \: (u_{A}t + \dfrac{1}{2} a_{A} {t}^{2} ) = (u_{B} \times t) + 0.5

 \implies \: (10t + \dfrac{1}{2} 4{t}^{2} )= (10 \times t) + 0.5

 \implies \: (10t + 2{t}^{2} ) = (10 t) + 0.5

 \implies \: 2{t}^{2} = 0.5

 \implies \: {t}^{2} = 0.25

 \implies \: t = 0.5 \: sec

Distance travelled by car B after which it will meet will be :

 \therefore \: d_{B} = 10 \times 0.5

 \implies\: d_{B} = 5 \: km

So, car A and B will meet after car B travels for 5 km.
