Two cars A and B are moving in the opposite direction with velocities of 60 km per hour and 45 kilometres per hour respectively.

They start from the same point and move away from each other.

Time of observation is 10 minutes.

For this type of questions we need to apply relative velocity concept.

Relative Velocity between the cars will be :

v_{relative} = 60 + 45 = 105 \: km {hr}^{ - 1}

Distance of separation will be :

d = v_{relative} \times t

 =  > d = 105\times ( \dfrac{10}{60} )

 =  > d = \dfrac{105}{6}

 =  > d = 17.5 \: km

So Distance between the cars will be 17.5 km.

Answer:

Since the speed of car is 60 km/hr and 45 km /hr . Speed of the car after 10 minutes will be 60/6 and 45/6 = 10 and 7.5 km/ 1÷6 hr. So the distance between the cars will be 10 +7.5= 17.5 km
