Hint.

\text{speed}=\dfrac{\text{distance}}{\text{time}} is the relation between speed, distance, time.

Let's change this equation into a different form.

\implies \text{distance} =\text{speed} \times \text{time}

With speed and time, we can find out how far the cars have traveled.

Solution.

Car A

  • speed 40 km/h
  • time 3 h

The distance traveled of car A is 40\times 3=120\text{ km}.

Car B

  • speed 50 km/h
  • time 3 h

Similarly, the distance traveled of car B is 50\times 3=150\text{ km}.

It is given that two cars are moving in the same direction. So the two cars are 30 km apart. This is the required answer.

speed = time ddistanc is the relation between speed, distance, time

\implies \text{distance} =\text{speed} \times \text{time}⟹distance=speed×time

With speed and time, we can find out how far the cars have traveled.

Solution.

Car A

speed 40 km/h

time 3 h

The distance traveled of car A is 40\times 3=120\text{ km}40×3=120 km .

Car B

speed 50 km/h

time 3 h

Similarly, the distance traveled of car B is 50\times 3=150\text{ km}50×3=150 km .

It is given that two cars are moving in the same direction. So the two cars are 30 km apart. This is the required answer
