Answer:

4.4 , 3.6

Explanation:

In opposite direction speed will add

v1 + v2 = 8/1 = 8

In same direction they subtract

v1 - v2 = 0.8/1 = 0.8

From both eqn,

v1 = 4.4

v2 = 3.6

Answer:

4.4m/s and 3.6m/s

Explanation:

first according to the question the car come closer to each other by 8m every second so their combined speed would be 8m/s if we take it in the frame of either of the cars.

so,

V1+V2=8m/s.---1

next they move closer to each other 0.8m every second when they are moving in the same direction so the velocity of one car in frame of the other car is 0.8m/s.

so,

V1-V2=0.8m/s---2

adding (1) and (2),

V1=4.4m/s.

and by substituting the value of v1 in (1), we get,

4.4+V2=8m/s.

V2=8-4.4m/s,

Therefore,

V2=3.6m/s.

Therefore the answer is 4.4m/s and 3.6m/s.

Hoped you understood,

Thank you.
