Two cars head towards each other from opposite ends of a highway 450 km long. The speed of the first car is 40 km/hr. The speed of the second car is 50 km/hr. The cars will meet in:

A) 11.25 hours
B) 10 hours
C) 9 hours
D) 5 hours

As the cars are moving in opposite directions their speeds will be added
50+40=90km/hr
Total distance to be covered = 450km
Time taken= 450/90=5
Answer is d - 5 hours
