Two cars moving in opposite directions cover same distance d in hour .If the cars were moving in north south direction, what will be their total displacement in our hour?

displacement of one car =d due to North direction
displacement of other car =d due to south direction

also,

north and= south are also opposite directions

so,

distance will be same of both cars

also ,

displacement in one hr = distance covered in one hr

let dis placement of first car=D

so, displacement of second car=displacement of first car=D

total displacement =D + D =2D or

total displacement =total distance
