s = 4t + 1/2 (1) t^2
= 2t + 1/2 (2) t^2
=> t = 0 or t = 4s
Therefore
s = 4(4) + 1/2 (1)4^2
= 24m

Answer:

The length of the path is 24 m

Explanation:

First, let us find the time taken by each car

The velocity of the first car is  C_{1}=4 \frac{m}{s}

The velocity of the first car is C_{2}=2 \frac{m}{s}

The acceleration of the first car is C_{A 1}=1 \frac{m}{s^{2}}

The acceleration of the first car is C_{A 2}=2 \frac{m}{s^{2}}

The time formula is

For the first car is

v=u+a t_{1}

4=0+1 t_{1}

t_{1}=4 \sec

For the second car is

v=u+a t_{2}

2=0+2 t_{2}

t_{2}=1 \sec

Taking the majority time required that is t_{1}=4 \sec

The distance required is S=u t+\frac{1}{2} a t^{2}

S=4.4+\frac{1}{2} .1 .4 .4=24 m

Therefore, the distance covered by the car is 24 m.
