So,

a₁=3 m/s²

a₂= 8m/s²

So using 2nd equation of motion:-

S=ut+1/2at²

S=+1/2a₁t²

and

S=+1/2a₂t²

So basically we have to find the change in distance(ΔS)

So,

ΔS=1/2a₁t²-1/1a₂t²

ΔS=(a₁-a₂)/2t²

Since

ΔS=36 km=36000 m

So putting values:-

36000=(8-3)/2t²

t=√36000/2.5

t=√14400

t=120 s

So the time is 120 s
