Two cars weighting 1500kg are made to collide with a wall. the initial and final velocities of car are 15.0m/s and 2.6 m/s respectively. If the collision lasts for 0.15s, then find the impulsive force exerted on the car

Mass= 1500kg

Initial Velocity (u) = -15.0 m/s

Final Velocity (v) = 2.6 m/s

Time= 0.15 s.

Force=?

First we will find the acceleration,

a= v-u/ t

a=2.6+ 15/0.15

a= 27.3 m/s square

To find the magnitude of the force,

F= m*a

F=1500* 27.3

F= 40,950N

Therefore, force exerted on the car is 40,950N
