The total current in the circuit is 1A

Given:

Two cell of emf 2v and 4v internal resistance 1ohm each are connected in series with emf in opposite sense the equivalent emf

To Find:

The current through the resistance of 6ohms

Solution:

Total resistance of circuit is R,

R = \frac{6(3)}{6+3} +2+1+1

Resistance R = 6ohms

Series in which the cells are equivalent,

We get,

Eeq = E1+E2

= 4+2

= 6V

I = Current in circuit

I = \frac{6}{6}

I = 1 Amp

Current in the circuit in 6 ohms = \frac{I}{6+3} (3)

= \frac{I}{3} Amps\\

Hence, the current in the circuit is I/3A
