Area of the shade of portion = Area of the large semicircle - Area of the three circles inside it. 

Radius of the large semi circle =256=28cm

Since there are two semicircles along the diameter of the largest semi circle , radius of each semi cricle 228=14cm

Hence area of shaded region =21×722×282−(722×72+2(21×722×142))=1232−(154+616)=462cm3
