Two circular bronze discs of radii 3cm and 4cm are melted down and cast into a single disc of the same thickness as before. What is the radius of the new disc?

vol. of discs

(i) = πr 2h=πx3^2 xh=9πh

(2) = πx4^2 xh=16πh

Total = 25πh

Radius of the new Disc:

πr^2h=25πh

r^2 = 25πh/πh=25

r =v 25 = 5

radius=5cm
