Given :- Two clock are showing correct time at 4:00 pm. one clock loses 3.5 minute in an hour , while the other gain 2.5 minute in one an hour . at 10:00 pm on the same day, by how much time will the two clock differ ?

Answer :-

we have,

→ Show correct time at = 4PM .

so,

→ Total time between = 10PM - 4PM = 6 hours .

first clock :-

→ Loses in 1 hour = 3.5 minutes .

→ Loses in 6 hours = 6 * 3.5 = 21 minutes .

that means,

  • first clock is showing 9 : 39 PM at 10 PM .

Second clock :-

→ Gain in 1 hour = 2.5 minutes .

→ Gain in 6 hours = 2.5 * 6 = 15 minutes .

that means,

  • second clock is showing 10 : 15 PM at 10 PM .

therefore,

→ Difference between clocks = 10 : 15 - 9 : 39 = 15 + 21 = 36 minutes (Ans.)
