Two coils A and B are in parallel planes. Coil A has 1500 turns and coil B has 12000 turns in which the Coil A produces 55% of flux that links with coil B. A current of 6 A in coil A produces flux of 0.05 mWb in it, while 6 A current in coil B produces 0.08 mWb flux in it. Calculate the mutual inductance, co-efficient of coupling and reluctance of coils A and B.

Answer:

Number of turns of coil X = 12000 turns

Number of turns of coil Y = 1500 turns

Current in X = 5 A

Current in Y = 5 A

Flux in X = 0.05 Wb

Flux in Y = 0.075 Wb

Suppose, we need to calculate the mutual inductance,

Two coil lie in parallel plane and 45% of the flux produced by coil X links coil Y.

We know that,

The relation between induced emf and mutual inductance is

The relation between flux and mutual inductance is

We need to calculate the mutual inductance

Using formula of mutual inductance

Where, N = number of turns

= flux

I= current

Put the value into the formula

Hence, The mutual inductance is 5.4
