Mutual inductance of the two coils is 50 mH if coils of  self inductance L₁= L₂= 50 mh  are perfectly coupled with each other

Given:

  • Two coils having self inductance
  • L₁= L₂= 50 mh
  • Perfectly coupled with each other

To Find:

  • Mutual inductance of the two coils

Solution:

  • M = k√L₁L₂
  • M = Mutual Inductance
  • k = Coefficient of coupling
  • k = 1   for  perfectly coupled coils

Apply formula M = k√L₁L₂ and substitute

L₁ = L₂ = 50 mH

and k = 1

M = 1 √(50 * 50)

M = 50 mH

Mutual inductance of the two coils is 50 mH

Answer:

Given-self inductances of two different coils,L1=L2=50

to find-mutual inductance

Formula- M=K√L1×L2

M=mutual inductance

K=coefficient of coupling=1(for perfectly coupled coils)

now,from the formula we have L1& L2 given in the question the value of k=1,thus, putting the values,

M=1√50×50

=1×50

=50

The solution implies that,for two coils with same self inductances, when coupled perfectly, the mutual inductance comes out to be equal to one of them, as in the case above, i.e.=50
