- Trust deficit between India and Pakistan : these two are the biggest economies in the region but their relations are strained. Geographically pak restrains India’s connectivity to Afghanistan and India restrains Pak’s connectivity to the eastern SAARC countries.
- Fear of dominance: the other SAARC counties barring India are sceptic of India’s policies. They are misbelieving that India would use its military and economic power in their internal matters.
