To find : complementary angles .

Given : two complementary angles are in the ratio 1:2 .

Solution :

  • We know that complementary angles are the angles whose sum measures up to 90° .

        i.e.   ∠A + ∠B =  90°

  • As per given data we know that two complementary angles are in the ratio 1:2 .
  • Let , two complementary angles be 1x and 2x .
  • Then according to condition we write as , 1x + 2x = 90 .
  • Using transposition method we find the value of x .
  • 1x + 2x = 90

        3x =  90 \\ x = 30

  • Now , complementary angles are:

        1x  = 1\times 30 = 30 °

        2x  = 2\times 30 = 60°

Hence, two complementary angles in the ratio 1:2 are 30 °  and 60°  .
