the measures are 40 degree and 50degree because complementary angles are the sum of two angles which make 90 degree and 40 +50 =90

Let the two angles be 4x and 5x

The sum of two complementary angles is 90

∴4x+5x=90

⇒9x=90

⇒x= 990

=10

So the angles are 4×10

=40 and 5×10

=50degree
