Two complementary angles are such that one is 1/5 of the other. Find them.

Let the Complementary angle be;

1st complementary angle = x

2nd complementary angle = 2x

x + 1/5x° = 90°

6/5°x = 90°

x = 90°

x 5/6 = 75°

Hence,

One angel = 75°

And

Other angel = 1/5 × 75° = 15°

Answer:

One angel = 75°

Other angel = 1/5 × 75° = 15°

Step-by-step explanation:

Let one angle be x° and other angle be 1/5°

Since complementary angle measures 90°

x + 1/5x° = 90°

6/5° = 90°

x = 90° × 5/6 = 75°

Hence,

One angel = 75°

And

Other angel = 1/5 × 75° = 15°
