let one angle be x
other angle (90-x)

according to question
x-(90-x) = 12
x-90+x = 12
2x = 112
x = 112/2 => 56°
other angle => (90-x) => 90°-56° => 34°
hope this helps

We know that sum of complementary angles is = 90⁰
Let the 2 angles be x and y
lets suppose that y>x by 12⁰
y=x+12
therefore, x+y=90⁰
x+x+12=90⁰
2x+12=90⁰
2x=90-12
2x=78
x=39⁰
y=x+12=39+12=51⁰
