Submerged plants. Completely submerged water plants like seagrasses and pondweed (Elodea canadensis) lack stomata. The leaves are mostly thin (e.g. Zostera marina, here left) or thread-like (round but with a small diameter; e.g. Syringodium isoetifolium.
