C3H6O stands for :

CH3CH2CHO - propanaldehyde or propanal

CH3COCH3. - acetone or propanone

these two belong to carbonyl compounds. they are functional isomers of each other. aldehyde -CHO and ketone . Both have a carbonyl group =C=O.

Answer: propanone and propanal

Explanation:

The compounds having similar molecular formula but different arrangement of atoms or groups in space are called isomers and the phenomenon is called as isomerism.

CH_3COCH_3 and CH_3CH_2CHO are functional isomers which have same molecular formula but different functional groups attached.

For IUPAC nomenclature :

Select the longest possible carbon chain.  For the number of carbon atom, we add prefix as 'meth' for 1, 'eth' for 2, 'prop' for 3, 'but' for 4, 'pent' for 5, 'hex' for 6, 'sept' for 7, 'oct' for 8, 'nona' for 9 and 'deca' for 10.  A suffix 'one' is added at the end of the name for ketones and 'al' is added for aldehydes.

IUPAC name of CH_3COCH_3 is propanone and IUPAC name of CH_3CH_2CHO is propanal.
