The length of the chord is 8cm.
Let OC=3cm, OA=5cm and OC is perpendicular to AB. O is the centre of the concentric circles.
By Pythagoras Theorem,
OA²=OC²+AC²
5²=3²+AC²
AC²=16
AC=4cm
C is the midpoint of AB
AC=CB
AB=2AC
AB=2×4
AB=8cm.
